Second Draft:
I'm a senior at USC, currently studying voice and engineering. I'll be a senior until May 2007. This voice thing kind of came as an afterthought. USC was the only conservatory I had applied to, and I only realized how important music was to me in the last week before the college matriculation deadline. Anyway, it's been enormously rewarding and I know I've picked the best option, college-wise, for me. I frequently get somewhat amazed that I ended up studying music, since I've always been an engineer at heart and never expected to delve into something as in depth as I have science. That, and my memory sometimes lasts less than five minutes, so everything is surprising, sometimes.
As for the engineering part, I find plasmas enormously awesome. Probably because the word "plasma" is fun to say. Ideally, I'd would have to end up doing research on hot fusion power, but that seems to be moving further and further away from my actual plans.
Lately, I'm moving towards a career in music. This was prompted by a particularly extraordinary summer in Middlebury, VT, through Middlebury's German for Singers program. I was given such an opportunity to make such huge leaps in vocal technique, communicative ability and musicality (not to mention German), that I've lately felt compelled to pursue this music thing to wherever it will take me.
I typically hold a top-ranking spot on the weirdest people my friends know list. This is awesome. I also hold the number one rank in the 1999 National Division of the World Rock Paper Scissors League with an inprecedented 28-5 win/loss ratio in League play (2nd best had 29/21). This is clearly also awesome.
To irritate Nick Martin, here is a page with pictures of dogs and bird and things.
